How Cruitfly built an 86-person, local-majority demolition and abatement workforce in a market where it had almost no prior presence.
The project: demolition and abatement on a university campus in Georgia.
Crew: scaled to 86 workers over four months.
Timeline: two weeks' notice, then a project running more than ten months.
Two things made this hard. The client wanted the majority of the crew to be local, and this was a market where Cruitfly had very little existing workforce presence. We had two weeks' notice to begin staffing a project that would run for the better part of a year.
We scaled from initial staffing to more than eighty workers over four months, covering everything from skilled operators to demolition technicians, and built that workforce locally rather than importing it.
We were on site from day one to hand the crew over properly and to confirm the client had every piece of paperwork they needed before the project started. We have continued to visit the site throughout, to keep the relationship with both the workers and the client's team. On a project this size, staffing is not a delivery, it is an ongoing job.
An 86-person, local-majority workforce sustained across a ten-month-plus project, in a market where we started with almost nothing.
This is the largest workforce Cruitfly has built to date, and the strongest evidence that long, large and geographically difficult projects are within scope. If you are looking at a multi-month project in a market where your usual labour sources are thin, this is the relevant one.
